I've been doing all this planning on a rearend for my 57 when a buddy of mine comes along and tells me why don't you just use the 12 bolt 355 posi out of my 442? (he's tubbing the 442 with a 9") he's giving it to me for free:) So now I just need to find out what it came out of I'm guessing a 68-72 chevelle? So if it needs cut down I still would'nt have too much $$ in it.

I knew there was a reason I hung around with him:D. But that's how most gear heads are "I got it and you need it , it's yours."

Wow how lucky can you get? 12 bolts have been put under tri fives but i`m not sure how much trouble it is to do.

that rocks the b.o.p. 12 bolts were supposed to be stronger than the conventional chevrolet 12 bolt. your friend just gifted you about a 1000.00 back axle congratz:D, you should start by measureing from flange to flange and compair with what you have, check bolt hole to bolt hole on the leaf perches, now would be a good time to plan a spring perch reversal to get bigger tires under your car, :cool: keep us posted on your decision. some friends rock....
