The motor has finally been taken out. I have away for a few weeks so progress has been slow.

Now I'm getting started on rust repair under the floor pans.

I found this little surprise on each side.

I've cut out the rust and starting my first attempt a sheet metal fabrication.C:\Documents and Settings\Dennis\Desktop\trifive photos
After drilling holes for the spot welding, I coated the back sides with DTM epoxy primer.

The first brace is ready to weld in place.
As soon as the welding is done, I'll move onto making the new inner rocker panel ends. Then I may be able to weld in the new pans.

I am going to fabricate new toe board lowers. Can anybody tell me if I should make an edge like the original to spot weld the new pieces? Or could I just make a few tabs to weld to and butt weld the new toe board to the new floor pan.
I know many of you have done this. If there is a better way, please let me know.:tu

Doesn't that brace get welded to the inner rocker panel, so the rocker panel will have to be on first?

You need to upload the pictures to a site like photobucket.com to get it to work. It looks like they are on your computer, not on a photo hosting website.

I have done this before.....I'm going to figure it out and try again.

The brace was in between the inner and outer rocker panel.
