Hi all Need some info on changing the center link from oem power steering to 605 power steering
I just replaced the center link from the oem with the power steering valve
to a center link from a non power steering car to eliminate the valve assembly.
The non power center link seems to be hanging a bit too low.
Is it possible to install it up side down?
The pitman arm comes from the steering box to the bottom of the center link
but the brackets that hang down to hold the tie rods look like the center link should be installed with the tie rod brackets going up not down. which would make the pitman arm attach at the top of the link not the bottom

Does anyone have a picture of this change over ? my books only have line drawings

The ball on the pitman arm is on top with it entering the center link from the underside. Look on page 2 of my site, you can kinda see that area.

The pitman arm for manual steering is different from the power steering pitman arm and I think the idler arm is aslo different. Did you change all of these parts?

Yes i changed the whole unit that i took out of another 55.(new tie rod ends and idler bushings)
My center link is not the same as the photo. mine has 2 arms that drop down that the tie rods attatch to . not a straight bar like the photo.
