I can't remember what kind of oil I used the last time I changed it, and I don't think it really matters (it wasn't synthetic, though).

Any suggestions on viscosity, etc. for this old car?

As you all probably know, I drive this car about a mile every three years! :) But I plan to get it on the road and start driving it more and more as I get it running better and better!

Valvoline High-Milage 10w-30, that's what I run in my 265. Tried others and didn't like them.

What's in the high mileage oils that makes them good for high mileage cars? Just wondering, I have a few high mileage (110,000 and 105,000) cars other than my 57, and the odo on my 57 says 95,000. I'm all for using it if there's a reason, not just fancy advertising.

The main difference is that the high mileage oils have stuff to swell the seals. IMO you don't want that unless it's already leaking.

100,000 miles used to be a lot, I don't think that's true any more, especially on a late model EFI car. With some maintenance, they can go 2-3 times that. Thing is, the rest of the car will still fall down around it.

Regardless of new or old, EFI or carbs, judge what you have by what it does, not its mileage or age.

Yeah, if that isn't the truth.
