After about twenty yrs. of driving by this scrap yard in Pa. I finally found someone there I could talk to.Asked him if he had any old cars and he said that there was some back in the trees, and said I could look at them if I wanted. After walking through briar patch's & poison ivy I finally made it to the woods.I couldn't believe what I saw, there was Chevy's , fords, Mercury's Stude's,Dodge's,Ply's,Cad's,Olds,Buick's you name it. All from late 40's up to 70's most were pretty rusty but alot of stainless, might be some good glass, some still had 283's in them and 6's,some had interior. 65 Impala convt. top bows didn't look to bad, feww 55's 56's,58's,59,& 60 Chevy's, Most all parts are for sale ,sadly he said he hope's to have them all bailed by fall. Terry I've driven by that junk yard for 30 yrs. could never catch anyone there and couldn't see the old cars for the trees.I mostly looked at the Chevy's but there might be some restorable cars in there. I was looking at a 58 belair and the color of the seats caught my attention they almost looked new just like the day it came off the line , I looked at the odometer and it read 47K. There was an old 53 Olds there with a 1958 lic. plate on it that car didn't last to long .You walk through there and look at those cars and think they were brand new at one time hauling families back and forth, if they could only talk lots of story's. Mark i know the feeling. I have watched cars around here forever and couldn`t find anyone around, next thing you know you drive by again and they`re gone, never to be seen again.

I passed a yard last Sunday. I'd like to return when I have time to check it out.

Well the big difference is these old cars have been living in the rust belt since new and that doesn't help any.One car I was wondering about that was back there was a Plymouth 2 dr. wagon I think it was a 58, I wonder how many of those were made? Another was a 56 Buick Roadmaster 4 dr. HT wagon ,that car was pretty cool I would liked to see have seen it sitting in the showroom. Steve it usually takes me about a week to get poison ivy after I've been playing in it.Another thing watch out for his junkyard dogs. Mark

Mark my temperature is rising :D a 2dr plymouth wagon ??? GEEZ thats worth saving . They did however make some plymouth and dodge wagons that look like the old subuerbans and some were even tagged with that name.
Any of them would be worthy of making a nice custom cruiser. :)

Yea Steve the old car caught my eye I don't remember seeing any of those on the road but I was looking for Chevy's so I didn't go look at it.There was several old pickups there one was a early 40's Stude.couple 50's Stude pickups and a mid 30's ford or Chevy .I asked him if he had any 348 or 409's but he said he sold those off a long time ago. He has several larger trucks laying around next time I go over I'll have to look and see if any of them are 427's. Mark

According to an article in the hemmings muscle machines the buick 4dr hdtp wagons are few and far between also.

That's what I was thinking Terry ,on a sunny day if you looked at the car you would have to be wearing sunglass's or be blinded with all the chrome and stainless on the car. Looking at the dash in the car there's all kinds of chrome plated pot metal to hurt your head on if you got in a accident. I always liked the rear wheelwells on those cars , there was a 56 2 dr. HT there I liked the three piece rear glass in those, classy cars. I added a gasser link in the links section there's some pretty neat trifives in there I would imagine most of you guys already know about the site but I didn't see it listed so I added it. I added it last night but it disapeared, I don't know if it was taken off for some reason but I stuck it back in there. Mark
