View Full Version : Is it just me?

You know it seems like i can never find the 57 pcs that i`m looking for. As careful as i was when the tear down started, bagging labeling putting in boxes and eventually even making a list on the outside of the boxes identifying what was in the content of said box, I still can`t locate everything. It is very frustrating. I was working on the 57 this evening and could`nt locate 3 bolts that i know had to come off the car. So is it just me or is this a universal problem/phenominon? Thanks for listening,Terry.

Only 3 bolts????? I usually can not even find the tool after I used it! I just bought one of those magnetic trays so the stuff stays put till I can put it back on or store it away. Now where did I put the tray?:D

....and then comes the roll of twine so you can tie the roaming tools to your belt for easier retrieval.

Guys the 3 bolts was just todays incident. It`s always something it seems. And i know i put everything up for the process of going back together.

Terri, It's not just you. Those items we all look for go to the same place the missing socks go to. Among the missing is best I can tell

Then, when you're all done you'll wind up with leftover parts.

No worry on the leftovers. There`s a 4dr 210 waiting in the wings, and a 72 chevelle.

I ran into that problem yesterday. I was reassembling the frame. I knew I put those bolts where I would trip over them. No one has been working in the garage but me. It must been an evil troll.

I don`t want to hear that Mike. I often check to make sure my head is still connected. haha.

Mines still connected. It's just that the marbles all fell out one of those times I smacked it on a frame or open door.

Had to go on vacation for a while...refresh the jets, etc.
Went to my favorite place in the world -- Wisconsin! I love it up there...brought back lots and lots of cheese!
Nice to be back, nice to be missed, too! :)

Welcome back Mike!! I'm on vacation next week. Going to Cape Cod end of the week and over to New York on Saturday the 19th to meet a friend Two Lane Wayne. Lebanon Valley is having a GM Shoot Out and swap meet.

Interesting how my "reply post" appears before the post I was replying to!
I posted #14 after Dave posted #17....hmmmmm

Exactly my point, Dave...weird, huh?
I think it has something to do with the "time" setting, which I've never been able to get right on this site. I know how to do it, but for some reason the site seems to keep changing.

there is a dark evil cavern under my garage floor that must be very deep. it opens when my back is turned and swallows up my tools, nuts and bolts. sometimes it even grabs my freshly opened can of ice cold pepsi!

Well it has happened again. Now i can`t find some steering column pcs. I know i bagged and labeled parts but i guess i must have thrown the bags out since i can`t seem to find anything when i need it. Oh well, i`ll find pcs after i come up with a replacement, never can have too many extras.

I've been trying to find wheel cylinder push rods and an emergency brake lever that attaches to the brake shoe for the right rear wheel. I know that I have parts around someplace.

I can't have enough nuts and washers in the drawer to replace the ones I drop on the floor -- where the heck do they go? I dropped one a few days ago and I was determined to find it. I crawled around on the floor with a light for nearly a 1/2 hour looking in places it could NOT have rolled -- no luck so I took one out of the drawer -- hmmmm, maybe THAT'S where they all go? :)
