Confused?

Was up guys and gals.I have been working on a conversion on my 57 to a 605.After mounting the pump with the correct bracket and cutting the steering column, the transmisson control arm on the column hits the fire wall.I did notice that the control arm on the bottom of the arm had been modified on the columns on sale on line.Is this the fix?Or did i install the pump wrong?I look forward to your comments,thanks in advance.:tu:tu

This is mine. I cut the lever and added a piece to drop it down 1".

Thank you very much.That was almost all i needed.You may also know where i could get the wiring harness for the steering column?I tried all day to remove the wiring from the org harness and and replacing it with new wire.Not as easy as i thought.Thanks again for your help.Culprit:tu

Need a little more info here. What column are you using?

Sounds like you shortened your original column....If so, both Danchuk and Eckler's sell the original replacement directional signal switch and harness

I did shorten the original column.That should be an easy fix. I did check both danchuk and ecklers but was unable to find the plug?Am i again just an idiot? I did purchase a new wiring harness but it did not include this harness. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Culprit

Culprit....I assume by plug you mean the plastic wire housing that encases the connectors....Looking at Danchuk's catalogue at part number 409...It states "You must re-use the plastic wire housing"...This applies to only 57, I believe...I have a 55, so I don't have a plug...All male and female spade connectors for each wire...If you need the housing, I should have one around here somewhere that I can send you...Hope this helps!

The harness inside the column comes with the turn signal switch. http://www.hhclassic.com/scripts/PartsDetail.cfm?Catalog=Car2001&KeyNo=3120 The terminals can be removed from the connector by squizeing the male terminal together to release the pointed end from the notch in the connector and pulling on the wire.
