Anyone have any reccomendations as to the best? I plan or putting front and rear sway bars on a 1957 Bel Air and cannot decide between the two

If they are both of similar diameter, either one should do the trick. I think the helwig is available through danchuck and the price is reasonable. That's been the biggest bar(1 1/4 dia.) for a decent price that I have been able to find for a tri five. Hotchkis does have good stuff, but a bit pricey on some things.

The Hellwig 5711 bar has a funky looking structure to bolt it to the frame. It will clear front mounted brake calipers.
The Hellwig 5721 bar has a more common looking mounting and look. It won't clear front mount brake calipers without modifiction.
I don't know the unique details of the Hotchkiss bars but they are well known in the road race/autocross world.

I used an ADDCO front bar on my BB wagon, Henry.

I used the CCP 1 1/8 bar on the front of my Handyman.
I love it.
At least I think I remember loving it, it's been a while since I drove it....
Check out all of them. Like Rick said, look at how they're mounted.
But, you will be glad you installed one.
