I'm looking at some of the major 4-bar kits right now and
considering adding one to my '56 150 2dr.

So far, the TCI and Jim Meyer kits look pretty good as
far as installation, design, etc..
I stopped by Jim Meyer's shop a few months ago and the
quality of his parts was real nice.

I did a search and didn't find much 4-bar discussion.
Would be nice to hear some opinions/experiences about 4-bar

Triangulated vs Parallel 4 bars, etc.
Ride and performance of 4 -bar vs. leafs.
Difficulty in installation.
Building your own versus buying a kit.

In particular, if anybody has used the Jim Meyer, TCI, or other kits, please post your experiences with it. (Customer service, installation, expense, etc)

Thanks

Geoff my choice was AME and their Triangulated 4 Bar. Primary reason was the elimination of a panhard or other type of unit typically required for location. As can be seen by my site pictures, I have not completed the car, so I can’t tell you the specifics on the ride quality.

I have used Parallel 4 links on other projects from AME and others. As far as getting them installed – some type of fixturing to locate them on the chassis is handy and almost essential to a square/plumb install.

What is your plan for the car – i.e. cruise, race or other? Coilovers or air? How about some pics.

Nick,

Thanks.

Plan is for a street car. I just had Kim Barr build me a 500 hp 383 and I bought a new Tremec 5 speed setup.
Will probably just use coilovers because I'm trying to keep the car
simple since it's my first build in about 25 years.

Here's a link to a picture of my little '56 150:

Not completely off topic, but, does anybody remember who it is that makes the truck style long trailing arm rear suspension for tri-fives? Thought I had it in my tri-five bookmarks but can't find it...

The truck setup looks great, but appears you might have some issues with running the exhaust. Geoff the CCI is the one I have looked into, but I'm curious what everyones else's comments are too.
