When I got home from work today I caught my son reading a magazine that I never thought I'd see in my house. I walked into his bedroom to say hello and there he was on the bed reading Import Tuner. Where did I go wrong ?

Peer pressure on him. Give him Hotrod or Super Chevy subscription. Welcome to the site!!!

Or you could blow his doors off with your Tri-Five :D

 He needs counseling! Now take him to Dr. Goodwrench and have him lay down on the front seat, err.. couch. He needs to see the light and the error of his ways! :D Just think though, at least it wasn't a Ford magazine. ;)

Not entirely bad news....at least he's interested in cars....now you just have to gently guide him untill he sees the light :D Be gentle with young grasshopper!

There is a shop here that builds Tuner engines, it's unreal what people will pay for those things... I could restore a Tri-Five for the cost of one Tuner Car engine...

I can believe that. I saw a Honda engine that was built for racing and it was over $25k!

Take him to an NHRA Powerade Pro Series event near you.

My 8yr old son loves drag racing. It might be because we run in the NHRA Super Gas class but even if we don't race we still go to watch.

I agree with the statement that it`s not all bad news. He is in fact still interested in cars. Let him keep his interest there and also introduce him to the joys of a classic car by taking him to some shows with a lot of classic cars. Maybe that will peek his interest.

nothing wrong with looking at a tuner magazine... NOW if he was watching gay porn or doing drugs, then I would be worried...

At least he's interested in cars! Just give him a little guidance & don't discourage his likes as my dad did to me. Needless to say it just pushed me further into the Import world. Either way it's good experience for the long run. Cause now I can work on a 4 cyl & a small block fairly easy.

Hey at least he likes cars. He could be into other things that you would not approve of. Hey to be old and wise you first must be young and stupid. I say if he his not out and getting into trouble then it is OK. He is just a young gearhead.
