I am trying to get an accurate weight for my 55 Chevy. Problem is I have so many add ons up front, like Rack and Pinion, 2.5" dropped spindels, large aluminum radiator and cross brace and a blown 454 that has been dropped 6 inches and slid back at least 6. This is begiining to sound like a math test.

I need the weight to order a new set of springs from QA1. I told them everything I had in the car and when it came off the jacks it almost touched the floor. I cranked the shock adjustment all the way up and stll looked like a raked car from back in high school days. Does anyone have a similar setup and have the weight or is there something I might be able to rent to measure it. The problem now is the engine is out of the car and I wanted to get this all done before I put the engine is as the body just returned from paint. Any ideas would be helpful

gary this would be a little work if you got a trailer find a truck stop with a scale weigh truck and trailer empty and then load your car and weigh it all. then subtract the differrence. add 400 to 600 pds depending on the. merry christmas.

That won't really help, you need the front wheel weights so you can figuer the spring rates for the front only, you'll get the total but without knowing exactly what weight is where that information will be of little help. Look around your area and find a race shop, circle track racers, dirt track, Autocross experts someone with a set of corner scales. you need to know exactly whats on the front tires not the entire car.

Thats an issue we run into down here especially with guys who get bare frames and build there own motor mounts and move everything to clear the firewall. They end up with a much greater front wheel weight than other customers, one reason I offer free spring swapping on our chassis.

And If your lucky they'll have the springs there for sale and you might even have time to corner balance the car too. Don't forget to balance the tire air pressures first.
