Is it a '55 or '56?

Back about 1975 there I was cruising along in my Corvette Orange-poly '56 two
door 210 when I saw a hitch hiker. Recognizing the hitch hiker as a local kid, I stopped and picked him up. Hitch hiker asks, "Is this a '55 or '56?" I said "It's a '56." (pay attention now) Hitch hiker said, "Well I like '55's better." Where is an ejector seat when you need one?

Dosen't know the difference between a 55 and 56 but likes the 55 better! Sounds like some of our elected officials.

Used to have a 66 Triple Black Chevelle SS, had three young-uns admire it. As they walked off, one asked the other two....."whats a Chevelle?" If it isn't a rice rocket, most of the younger generation can't name it. SAD !!!!!!!

What I find disturbing is when the the young guys walk by your car and don't even notice it's different from every other car in the lot. :eek:

No sense of appreciation or respect for the here and now! I wonder how he would've felt if you said " well let me let you off here and maybe a 55 will come along and give you a ride!".

Rocky to hitch hiker as he safely pulls over to side of the road, " Let me show you the differance in the 55 vs. 56 tailights" Ungrateful passenger walks to the rear of car for a lesson.... Rocky still in driver seat as he explains, "These 56 tailamps are going to look smaller as they disappear in the horizon!" Rocky guns it and leaves dummy in the dust!!!!! Later, Dave

Surprisingly alot of middle aged/older people don't have a clue either. I have my '56 as my screen saver at work and i'm amazed at the amount of middle aged/older people that don't have a clue as to what it is. "What kind of a car is that" is the most common question i get, weather i'm cruising or working on it in the driveway.
