I am wiring the '55 at the moment. On the front park lamps there are 2 wires. Does it matter which way round they go? I know the bulbs will be double filament, and the bulb pins are off-set so they will only fit one way. Is one filament brighter than the other, (the direction indicator for example)?

The violet wire is the parking light or small filement. The other wire is turn signal or larger filement. If the bulb sockets don't have the original color coded wire, you can jumper 12 volts to each wire with the socket grounded. The brighter one is the turn signal.

Thanks Don. I will check that out tomorrow after work. I am using AAW loom. Had to remove the sockets from a couple of spare parking lamps I had and re-install on my re-chromed set. AAW sockets that came with kit were rubbish, so I am using all cleaned up original bits. ;)
