I haven't, but I don't see why you couldn't if your mechanically inclined and have a schematic. It would be easier to buy a new one and start fresh.

I've used the harness out of a 79 chevy pickup before. You can use anything you want so long as it's good and you don't mind modifying it to work. Anymore with wiring I use new harnesses because the thought of fire bothers me with old wire.

In my opinion why use a harness that isn`t built for it and itself is nearly 30 yrs old to begin with. If you don`t want to spend the money for a harness built specifically for our tri fives then get one like Josh(shua57) used which i think was an E-Z harness that he paid around 150.00 for. Wiring isn`t a good place to skimp on.

Welcome to the site!! I agree with getting a new wire system. Why mess with an old one when a new one is a lot faster. Might cost more but this is not a place to skimp. I put in all new wiring when I did my frame off. I can now sleep an night.:D
good luck

Believe it or not, I have the wiring harness from a 79 Camaro in the trunk of my Bel Air. Mainly because I don't have anywhere to store it. ;)
