So, I'm out in the 95 degree Florida heat doing some sandblasting in the engine compartment, while I have the engine out....Bad enough I'm dressed in long pants, long sleeved shirt, rubber gloves and can only get under the protective hood for no more than 5 minutes at a time, before needing to come in the garage and wipe the sweat and cool off a little.
Started blowing the sand off everything and noticed that the windshield is now cracked on the driver's side...What a bummer :(tdi Must have been heat related....The old expansion and contraction thing....Anyway, its off my chest now....Will keep on truckin' and get some more done tomorrow...Hope we get a break in the heat though

Dave,
What a bummer....................maybe there was a small hair line crack you just had not noticed, and it just expanded in the heat. Hope it was not a new windshield. That sounds like my kind of luck. One step forward 3 back all the time. Just don't seem right sometimes, but as I wife says "everything happens for a reason". She can't give me the reason, but she still says it, so I just regroup, and keep on going..........lol
Trying to put a bit of humor in a bad situation Dave, I do hate that for you.
Stay positive, and just keep at it. We are having miserable heat here already too...........................

Only 95 and you are complaining?:D Come to Texas for a few days and you`ll feel like enjoying the 95`s. It has been being around 102-104 the last few days and isn`t expected to change until after the weekend, maybe. Too bad about the windshield. Oh well you was wanting a new one any way weren`t you?:)

Think I figured out what happened and will pass it on as a word of caution for others...The car was sitting out in the extremely hot sun and the windshield expanded....When the cool compressed air was directed at the windshield, it tried to contract too fast and cracked.
