Yep, saw that previously, no transmision casting numbers listed. That's what lead me to post here. Unless I'm blind or something?? I just looked again at it, nada, nothing, zero, kaput

Nope, that's the casting numbers for the bell housing, not the transmision itself. There is a spacer that I call a spacer but the books call a bell housing that mounts between the engine and the transmision. It's a cast iron round piece about 3 inches thick. Thanks for trying to help tho, I guess I'll need to keep searching for the info.

radioguy7 I hope the following info may help you for 2 speed powerglides.

1957 transmission applications :

Assembly Code Location (Car):
Powerglide - On rear side of governor flange

All transmission date coding is as follows :except for transmissions beginning with the prefix "W", one or more numerals designating the month using "1" for January, "2" for Feburary, etc, "10" for October, "11" for November and "12" for December will be stamped immediately following the letter prefix.
Two numerals designating the producation date of the month using "01" for the first day of the month, "02" for the second, etc will follow the numeral or numerals designating the month.
Powerglide Example: C 11 16
C : Prefix = Cleveland Powerglide
11 : Month = November

Thank you for the info, I find it interesting that it differs from Danchuks info. Hmm who is right?? I also found two more sources online that were different, the only common factor was the numbers all started with a 3

I'll let you know how I make out
