First of all I can't believe it took me this long to stumble accross this great board. Recently left the off road hobby (getting too crazy and way out of budget), so I decided to persue a life long love of the 55 Bel Air. Had one in the family before I could drive and figured now is the time to get one of my own! Was very surprised to find out how much a nice 55 is going for now days:eek: . Anyway, I look forward to tapping everyone here for good info as I search to purchase my dream 55..... Anyone know of a good place to look for a 55 that's not $10,000 over priced let me know. Seems there are many classic car dealers that are buying cars from private owners and stamping a huge mark up on top once they get them in thier showrooms. Not knocking a business man in making a living, just don't want to pay an gross amount for a nice car. I'm in the 30K - 40K price bracket.....

Welcome JWB! I would try e-bay, local publications etc.. They are out there, just takes a little time to find the right one. Good luck on your quest. Trifive.com is here to assist in any way we can.

Thanks for the reply. That's exactly where I'm looking now. Sticking to local auto traders as e-bay is almost always across the country. I'll post once I find it!!!:D
