Due to the high interest in the great arkwork of Challe, We at Trifive are in the process of deciding if their is interest in making T-Shirts, Hats , Sweetshirts etc, with Pictures of Trifive Vehicles with the Trifive Logo on them , I have commissioned Challe to make us a New Logo and several differant variants of 1955, 1956 and 1957 Photo's that could be Screen Printed with our Trifive logo.

I have also Contacted another member of trifive ( Randy 57 (http://www.trifive.com/forums/member.php?u=312) ) who owns a Screen Printing Company and ask him to work with myself, and Challe and the membership of Trfive to pursue this idea.

I then talked with Mike ( MikeKy55 (http://www.trifive.com/forums/member.php?find=lastposter&f=53) ) He suggested that we should put a poll, to see if their is interest from our members.

Here is a link to a thread that shows Challe's Talent as an artist, these are not the actual photo's that we would use because we will have new ones done especially for Trifive.

http://www.trifive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3338

Also here is an email from Randy 57, that explains some options, I will list them in the poll, please vote.

Otis for the survey these are the potential items I would suggest. I tossed in the embroidery idea just to see how it compares to silk screen. If we were to do a small chest in embroidery it would look real nice, same on hats. Large prints are too expensive and need to be done as silk screen. It can be done with silk screen on the back full size and small embroidery on the front.

This should give you enough info to poll on! Just leave out anything you want if you feel its too much. I in no way am suggesting we do all the variables, but this is just to give us an idea of where to start at.

Clothing styles:
Baseball caps
Tee shirts, long sleeve
Tee shirts, short sleeve
Sweatshirts with hoods
Sweatshirts with no hoods
Sport Shirts (collar & button)
Jackets (any style)

Material

100% cotton preshrunk

Clothing Color

I have to congratulate Challe for his marketing success -- I know this isn't the only site he's targeted, and hopefully for him he has just as much success at the other sites, too!

I like the idea of t-shirts and caps, even a nylon wind-breaker jacket would be cool.

If there were polo shirts/golf shirts with the logo, I could wear those to work! The t-shirts would be great to wear around the neighborhood and to work in, and a sweatshirt to wear to the gym/store on cold days! It could be Tri-Five logo 24/7! :D

I wonder if we have a failure to communicate here -- tank tops to me are what we called "muscle shirts" when I was growing up in Minneapolis. Maybe in California tank tops are girls shirts. Kind of like calling a girl's shirt a blouse and man's shirt a, well, shirt!

I don't think Randy was trying to insult anyone.

I can only wish I had responded with a "Me too" when you suggested tank tops.

Hey Don sorry for you being offended, it was the last thing I was trying to do. I don't think only girls wear them. It is just they don't normally sell all that well compared to tee shirts and when we had to make the original decision what to stock we went with tees. Unlike some sites that are connected with a company that makes iron on decals as each order comes in we do them in mass quantities of silk screened and embroidered items to save costs. If enough people feel they want them I could take special orders and have them made up.

Again sorry for the humor missing its mark:(

Randy,

Accepted! The humor in it did miss the mark on me and that's why I responded that way. As I mentioned in the past I do have one of your black polo's and have worn it several times. Just gets too hot in the summer for it.

I don't wear tee's because I don't like clothing close to my neck. Just bothers me, and therefore the tanks are great. I don't wear "wifebeater's" though.

Don

Randy 57
07-26-2008, 12:53 AM
Don and others how would a tank top be with just the small front logo, might be too hot to wear with that heavier logo on the back.

Randy -- are you talking about a tank top with the embroidered logo on the front only? That would be great!

finallyhavea57
07-26-2008, 09:45 AM
Randy,

Of course the main thing would be for the logo to be recognizable. I would think a small one on the front fine but also a larger one on the back would be cool.

I would stay away from the white material though. For that matter I do have black tanks that I wear and they are fine in the hot weather.

Thanks for considering it!

All I've ever seen are two door TriFive silkscreened tee-shirts - how about some 4 Door ones for us 4-Door people? :)

Most shirts are based on ability to sell, while 4 doors are fine they just don't excite the general public as much, thus shirts with four doors only wouldn't be a big seller and a money loser for the printer. Most don't understand but to print just one silk screen shirt you have close to $300 bucks or more invested befoe the first shirt is printed:happy0030: Kind of hard to get your money back on that. They newer systems that will print just one shirt directly from a jet style printer would be more cost effective and many places will do them for you from your own photograph for about $20.00 each. They come out good too:tu Just the printer costs 20k to 30K, that would take a long time to get your money back.

With that said I do believe I have seen at least one button up style with four doors on them.

Randy, I understand and I almost added that to my previous post, the fact that the reason you don't see them is because they're not as popular as the 2 doors. Thanks for the suggestion to have my own picture printed up - I'll check that out. :)

I like the idea of TriFive clothing, but being a pretty big guy I usually cannot find this type of clothing offered in BIG sizes. And even then, the BIG sizes usually shrink in length and therefore are too short after being laundered. Sooooo.............unless I see preshrunk 3X TALL I'm out of luck!

Wow is this post still floating around? We asked that question back in 07 when we were first thinking of doing clothing to help spread the word of bowtie-trifive. Since then we have done hundreds of shirts, special shirts for Pigeon Forge as well as sending them world wide! From the statements here I have to believe you guys have not been to the bowtie-trifive store (https://www.printedimage.net/products.asp?cat=10).

Here is one that Mel56 posted last week from the Reno event.
http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab238/Mel56/Hot%20August%20Nights/han020.jpg Since then we stopped doing the backs, too many complained they made the shirt hot in the summer. So we had another pole and it was decided to go with both pocketed and non pocketed shirts with only the front bow tie logo, it cut the price down a bit as well. The non pockets have been outselling the pocketed ones two to one, but both have sold well, not to mention the variety of hats.

Check out the store (https://www.printedimage.net/products.asp?cat=10) and see if there is something there for you,
