Aaron....Went to install the CPP Polyplus, lower bump stops today on my '57....The part number is 9.9154G....They did not fit....The spacing between the bolt and alignment tang is incorrect....It is only 3/4", where it needs to be 1 1/8"....Please advise :confused0006:

Good Morning,

On the poly kit the lower bump is pretty much universal. You can either drill the hole out or simply remove that little centering pin. I have done it both ways with success. Or if you prefer we do have an OE rubber bumper that is a little more direct of a fit. Let me know what you would like to do.

Dave, Unless you are going to use lowered springs you will hardly ever hit the lower stop. Put a stock rubber one in and forget it.:tu Fitment issues should be mentioned on the poly plus bumpers.

after all the work, I agree it should be mentioned. Sorry you had to find out the hard way. We had the same issues.....

Had the FE all together....So drilling the hole for the locator tab was a little more difficult w/o a 90* drill motor...But I was able to manage...Yes, I do wish it had been mentioned before hand as well....Will be running 2" lowering springs...So, wanted to install the bumper.

So you're running lowering springs and a stock height, but hard material bumper?

Maybe it's just me, I'd go with a cut down (stock) rubber bumper so it won't touch as readliy, but since it's thinner and more area from being cut down, it's going to be pretty hard if it ever does touch. Just a different way of thinking about the problem, and it will give you more travel on spring alone.

Thanks Rick :tu....Had not thought about that....Easy enough to fix later on, if it presents a problem.
