Where can I get some real good pics and descriptions showing how to install/hook-up my windshield wipers? I have the parts, or so I think, already installed in the car, but there are things, hoses, cables, etc. that aren't hooked up so the wipers of course don't work. I have the shop manual, and I've looked at the assembly manual on-line, but for a novice like me those don't quite do the trick!

Let me give you a 'for instance.'

The wiper motor has a hose coming out of it, hanging freely into the engine bay, and for the life of me I can't figure out where it's supposed to go! The assembly manual pic doesn't quite do it for me...this is just one of the things I need to figure out.

Thanks for any help you can send my way!

Mike that hose is the vacumn supply to the wiper motor. It should go to a direct manifold vacumn. You may have a line fitting or hole for a fitting in the manifold behind the carb. The wiper motor keeps a constant vacumn when the engine is running. The miper motor is activated by sliding the switch on the top of the vacumn motor. That switch is controlled by a cable from the dash switch. The dash switch is a mechanical way of moving the switch lever on top of the wiper motor.

Thanks, Mike. I'll look behind the carb to see if I can figure out where to stick the hose! I also have to figure out what to do with the skinny hoses that run to the wipers. The one from the passenger side somehow needs to be connected to the other one, according to the pic in the assembly manual. I guess I'll have to get under the dash to see what's up.

Hey Mike,

Look in the shop manual under section 1 body. Starting on Body 1-2 gives most of the info you'll need to get the wipers operational. :)

I'll take a look at the shop manual this weekend. Thanks for the info. I'll let you know how I do! :)

I didn't get a chance to look this weekend, so I'll try to get to it when I get home from work today. Just don't like to leave these threads 'hanging!';)
