I've heard a lot of guys talk about Dyna mat and I looked around locally for some.
I could only find a product called Pyle Mat. Looks like a similar product. The sample the local sound shop showed me had foil on one side and so I bought three sheets in boxes @ 20 bucks a pop.
When I got home I opened the boxes and these don't have the foil on them.
So, I bought some of the stuff I saw on "that auction site" that they claim NASCAR and World of Outlaws uses.

I wanted mainly heat insulation on the firewall, so maybe this will do the trick.
If I'd ordered it a month ago when I first saw it I'd have it now for the long weekend. Oh well. What can I say?
I did drop off my A/C brackets etc at the powder coat shop yesterday, so that's getting done.
And I made a couple windshield wiper nuts out of stainless. And a wrench to tighten them up.

LOL!!
Saw your cowl repair pics....nice job on that too!
I bought some Rammat for my car, but I haven't installed it yet. Seems like a good product, and I believe they have some other insulating mat.

Well Robert, I only made the two. However I have enough threaded material left to make a couple more. Say the word. Pm me your address.
Does this look familiar?

Only I can't really do anything about it at this point. I'm not about to disassemble the whole front end now.
Thanks 56 I'll check out Mighty Mat.
Laszlo, thanks for the good word, it always means a lot coming from an excellent fabricator such as yourself. (I've seen your pic sites:cool: )
And, how thick is the Rammat? Or the Dynamat as far as that goes.
This Pyle mat seems thin to me.
.....you got a lot of nerve to post that pic.

I just can't think of where I was when you could have taken it.....:o
Must have been after the Beach Boys concert last summer...what a night!:D
Ahhhh....you too have a leaf collection. Now you know why everyone puts a new smooth firewall in. Just what you need to do over the winter, in case you had something else planned :D
j/k on the stainless, I think I saw some new chrome pieces in a box last night when looking for tank straps, so we should be covered. Everyone kept telling me 2-1/2 tailpipes wouldn't fit on either side of the tank, so I had to install it last night so they could eat some crow. I think you would have a market for the stainless pieces, though. Some nice bling pieces that would offset the cost of front cowl. ;)

And I thought they all came out on my feet when I opened the vent....

Actually I was hoping to do the rear springs this winter...

If anyone can feed a guy crow you can.:D

I'd need to make a CNC program. I did these manually. On a 4 axis I could turn, thread, slot and cut off in one set up. Probably take 2 minutes each.
If I polished them before I cut off that would take a step out too.
Of course it would take me a day to get the program made, proven and the machine set up.
Then I could expand into things like wagon tailgate handles. I drew up one from my original when I was practicing my Unigraphics at work. That would be a little more complex.
Hmmmmmmmm....
Then next thing I know I'm working 24/7 and no time for my stuff.

Hello Jeff, nice work on your (dare I say) nuts. I have Fatmat, which is like Dynamat, for the bed floor and wheelwells of the wagon but as yet have not installed it, the sheets are only about .040" (from memory). On the fire wall I just used the factory style insulation, and on the floor a foil backed(one side) jute insulation. For the roof I bought double foiled insulation with the plastic air pockets. Merry Christmas, Henry.
