having heating problem with new engine in my 55 chevy. I'm getting a reading of steady 220 Temp. Engine has tuned port. A Z walker radiator.

Hey, Frank, could you give us a little more info? Do you have a fan shroud? What type of fan? If electric, pusher or puller? Radiator in the 6 or V8 position? I'm unfamiliar with your radiator brand.... Any other info on that?

If it never goes over 220, you might be OK anyway. Where on the engine is the temp sensor located? 190-200 is pretty normal on a modern engine...

had someone build car every thing is new. No fan shroud, no fan,pusher fan radiator V-8 position. Thanks

I think you've already been asked about the timing on another board.

What's the thermostat opening temperature? What's the "fan on" temperature?

You obviously have a temp gauge and a new sender. Have you used a ir gun to verify the temp is correct? How many miles do you have on that new motor, they usually run hot until break-in.
