Door Speaker Location

Can any of you post pics of where you have front speakers mounted on your doors? My speakers are 2 3/4" deep from the bottom of the magnet to the mounting flange. There is a hole in the drivers door where an old speaker was, front & down low, but there is a brace behind the hole that is only about an inch and a half or so deep, preventing my speaker from mounting flush.

I had thought about buying the kick panels with speaker mounts built in, but I heard they get in the way of the dimmer switch. I could also make another hole about 6" toward the rear of the existing hole, but I'm not sure if the window mechanisms would get in the way. ( my windows are out right now)

Any help will be greatly appreciated,
