Howdy folks.
You know the stories about the one you should have never got rid of?
Well I'm about to have another one to tell the grand kids.
I got accepted into a prestigious university on the east coast and have decided not to bring the car or the dog. I'm not sure which one I'll miss more.
I want to thank all the guys on the web site who allow lurkers like me to pick their brains. I haven't posted much because I believe if you don't have anything intelligent to say you should just keep your mouth shut.
I put the car in the classifieds on this site to give first shot to members.
Sort of a thank you gesture, I guess.
So anyway, adios amigos. It will be a few years before I pick up another project, and I know I'll never find another one like this. Oh well. Reminds me of the joke - my karma ran over my dogma.

Cheers!

Good luck. There'll be more cars in the future, and dogs, too! I gave up a dog once to go to college, it wasn't easy.

How much do you expect to get for your car? It's really nice.

Well as it sits I want $6500. After I repair and polish the windshield stainless and install the bug screen I want $7000. If I go ahead and install the underlayment and jute I want $7200. If I purchase and install an 18 circuit wire harness I want $7700. If I recode all the locks to a single key I want $7800. I know projects scare most people so the more marketable the car the higher my asking price. There is a ton of extra parts that the savy e-bay or swap meet guy could recover some of the expense.
BTW the Bel Air spears are on there because the 210 spears are really banged up.
So anyway did I mention that the car comes with a free dog?

Cheers,
PJ

Joe,
Not only have I regretted getting rid of my first two 55's......I've also regretted not putting into the GI Bill when I was in the military. I would have a much higher level of education and more than likely would be making a lot more money. Money's not the most important thing in life but....if managed correctly it alleviates a huge problem most of suffer from....the lack of!

Get your education and blast those door's open that would be locked without the diploma. Good luck....stop by and let us know how things are going.

Hey thanks Tom.
I'm transfering as a junior at age 36.
I was a mechanic and shop foreman untill I figured out that working for someone else was only making them rich and giving me an ulcer.
I'll tell you what, it's a lot easier being an older student. I tried it after I graduated high school and gave up because I felt like it was a waste of time.
What a maroon!!!

I think you should sell the dog and throw in a free car!

Your price seems so reasonable that I'd guess you'll have no trouble selling it.

Yea I hope so. You never know. I'm probably going to list it after I get those other things done. I can't wait for all the questions. Does it have this or that, how much to ship to east bum, how fast is it. And then all the friggin experts giving a sermon on originality and those cars never came with trim rings and why are the V8 tags missing.

Wish I could save you the trouble and just take it off your hands but my wife told me today that I can't get any more cars right now!!!! She's a tough one! But she did ask me what kind of dog you have.

I found a new windshield localy so I'll be humping the emory cloth and buffing wheel for the next couple of days. Hopefuly I'll have the whole thing installed by Monday.

This is not in the add but included with are 2 extra 2GC carbs and kits. My plan was to put a tri-power...now gas is around 3.50

Another thing I can help with is sourcing LPG or CNG conversions. This car would be perfect for such a thing. Talk about show stopper. Do they have a trophy for most eco friendly? I'm considering the same sort of conversion for my truck, although the CNG tanks would take up too much bed space.

Pics of the engine compartment will go up today.

Cheers,
PJ

You ought to try over here Bud!!

Forget about it.
When things get that bad here we'll have to vacuum form body shells out of polypropelene and slip them over our pedal carts.:o
I'll give it another 2 -3 years before the States are pushing $7 or $8 per gallon. The pisser is that it will be E85 anyway and Exxon and ADM will be getting richer...Oh sorry. Politics. I would be singing a different tune if I were a shareholder.;)

I was in the garage going through the stainless to find the best pieces for the bug screen when I found a set of door paint protectors.
They are stamped "Patented Adell Ind. Detroit Mich."
Have you seen these before?
I'll post a picture if needed.

I looked up Adell Industries...and apparently they are in the thermoplastics business now and have been since 1957.
I'm going to look at the patent..interesting that they would recieve a patent on something like paint protectors.
Must be a design patent.

Then we get done £8 per day to drive into central London! £1 to cross the Dartford Bridge of Tunnel on the M25 London ringroad!

Mate, it's expensive to drive over here. Luckily the £8 doesn't apply at weekends!!..............Yet!!!!!!

Ahhhh, life is good in sunny South Florida :) Gas under $3.00 per gallon, no need to drive the toll roads unless you want to, and parking is less than $2.00 per day. That's why we have such a horrible mass transit system, it's so much easier and better to drive yourself and waste gas, etc. :( I lived in a small midwest town (Madison, WI) and they had a bus system that was so good it made you WANT to take the bus rather than drive and try to find a place to park. Not here, you wouldn't take the bus if you HAD to!
