Looking for input on which system to buy. Anyone have trouble with the servo system?? I was thinking that the cable system would be more reliable? Which one are you using? Thanks

I just did my first "smoke test" on the electronic version... Worked like a charm! The fan WILL move some serious air.....
The pots for the control head are a bit of a PITA. Other than some added time there, I had no problems w/ the install.
I used the Vintage Air cable set in my Vicky...if I had to do it again I would go the servo route.

I helped a friend with one of the first servo units on a 57 - I'd guess one of the first dozen or two true production units (55 and 56 came out later). He had a lot of problems and ended up being a guinea pig for VA to make it all work and live for more than a day or two. It's worked well since then, and I think it's a much better system than the cables.
Don't like installing those pots and stuff? The cables are not a delight either. Good news is either one works pretty good after the initial pain.

Ain't that the truth!

I also went with a Super Gen ll with servos. At first I could not get it to work. One call to VA and they sent me out a new control module and all is well. I plan on use same unit in my truck only smaller:cool:

I have installed quite a few v-a systems and have had good results....However i have installed the electronic v-a system on a 57 and it is a pos... When it was first powerd up it worked great, all functions blower fan speed, defrost, heater control etc. was all good that lasted about ten minutes then the fan went to hi-speed and nothing else.I have called v-a tech line and i understand that troubleshooting electrical problems can be tuff but it seems like they only want to question my install...,,fair enough but the fact that it DID work for the first ten minutes tells me that that my install was correct.I have talked to the v-a techs five times questioning the ecu and the blower speed control but they still claim it must be the way i have it wired...Electronic stuff is great when it works but when it dosen't lookout
