55 Frame?

Hello
On the drivers side of my frame back by the front leaf hanger their is a v shaped bracket on the inside of the frame. What is this for and do i need it?

John, there are two possible brackets in that area. One would be for the exhaust hanger and the other would be the emergency brake cable. Does it have a round hole in the end with a slot? If so, thats the e-brake cable mount and there should be one on the other side as well.

It must be the exhaust bracket because I have already removed the e-brake bracket to install my four link suspention.
