You might have a really BIG airplane when you have to have wheels on the ends of the wings! Dave

I never get tired of watching those big-boys fly. Commissioned in the 40's or 50's and still one of the coolest, most impressive aircraft out there! (along with the SR-71). Thanks for posting.:) JIM.

I'd like to know what camera this guy used. The video is almost surreal.

I used to live in Rome NY, right above Griffis Airforce Base, right in their flight pattern. You don't realize just how BIG those gus are until you see one about 200 feet over your head full bore on take off.

By the way - when they ar sitting on the ground the wing tips droop down and when they are in the air the wing tips rise up. Total swing is about 17 feet. Awesome to think of that flexibility.

I was in Crash Rescue in early 60s.....will never forget the frst one I ever saw land with out riggers. I thought the wings were hitting the run way. Really a great Work Horse. :happy0030::happy0030::happy0030::happy0030:

Brings back memories, the B-52's used to fly over the Spokane Valley area when they were stationed at Fairchild AFB just to the west of Spokane, every time one would go over we would stop what we were doing and watch in awe. I'm not sure where they got moved to but I miss them, we have the KC 135 tankers now.

Thanks for sharing:D

Having spent several years of my life loading and unloading weapons on B-52's, they still hold a very special place in my heart. They are truly a plane that has successfully protected our country for many, many years. Thanks for the memories! :tu
