What years were chrome and what years were stainless for the 5-6-7 convertible interior windshield pillar moldings?

Thanks, Bert

The 55 converts had stainless interior pillar pieces. After that they are plated steel.

Much appreciated classichevy. I know I heard that some where before but wasn't sure of the year they were stainless.

The ones I found are stainless but the car being built is a 57 Conv. Polished they should look good.

What about the Repops I know they are chrome but not sure how they fit.

Again thanks:tu

Wow, everything that I see or have is chrome plated.
(Pillar A) and fits all 3 years.

I have heard only Pontiacs have the stainless trim but I happen to have two 55 Chevys with stainless trim. So, has the trim been changed out over the years?

The guy I bought my car from was very knowledgeable on Tri-5's. At the time I picked it up, I remember him commenting the inside pillars I had were from a '55. Didn't understand why he made the specific comment until later on.

So, I'm of the opinion the '55 Chevy Conv.'s did come with SS interior pillar trim.

The pillar moldings on my '55 vert are stainless and I believe they are 100% original.
