brakes

hey guys,
got a quag here, as i said before i put a new engine & tranny in my 55 well when i put the power brake booster back on and hooked the vacume lines back up it locks my brakes up:eek: when i take the vac line loose and plug the holes on both ends i have brakes again:confused: changes are i went frome a 265 two barrel to a 283 four barrel:cool: no other changes were made. somebody end this quag for me :eek: :eek:

About the only thing that would cause that (I can think of) is the push rod in the master cylinder or booster. Check to be sure you have a bit of travel in the pedal before the push rod makes contact with the piston. Should have 3/16ths or so. If its too tight it will hold the piston depressed. The power will make it happen faster.
