Gas tank, square or round corners?

Rookie question of the week:

While browsing my favorite online auction site, I stumbled on two gas tank listings. One listed a gas tank with square corners, one with rounded corners. Both had similar construction and are priced identically.

So, what's the difference? Could you car have either, sort of like the California frame thing, or is it belairs had one style, sedans had the other?

There were two different designs. I understand it depended on which supplier could meet the demands. Any car could have either. Bumper jacks were the same way. I think 55's had about 4 or 5 different jacks.
