My son and i are working on a 1956 4 door 210 for his first car.I have a question about the radiator saddle. Its a 6 cyl car and therefore the radiator was mounted in front of the core support, the crossbar in the core support had been cut out to remove the engine, when we purchased the car we also purchased a new radiator that they had bought for the car,we tried to install the radiator on sunday and ran into some issues with it.If i line up the holes and bolt it in place the radiator is right in line with the core support and i would not be able to weld the cross bar back in.In a nut shell i believe we have a v8 radiator and 6 cyl saddle,is there a fix for this? can i buy a v8 saddle or should i make a adaptor for the existing set up. Thank you in advance.

You should be able to take some angle iron and fabricate something like this to accomodate the situation.

You definitely want to fix the core support so that the fenders are held solid and fit good. Do as David suggested and build some brackets to mount the radiator.
