has anyone ever changed the window channels in a 56 chevy,i bought the after market kit,and they are a nightmare to bend them to fit,is there somebody in the edmonton area that does this,Thanks Greg,gkeats@shaw.ca

Greg you need to find something to use to bend the corners over that will get you close to the bend you need. I also used a 1/4" thick piece of wood my 1st time arond to run inside the channel. You can cut the board to the curve you need and then work VERY slow and carefully not to kink the stainless bead on the edge. And be sure to pay close attention to where the brackets go that are attached to the channel.Terry.

Sometimes you can use a hack saw and cut slices in the channel where the bend is and it will go in a lot easier.

You know I have never done this but chevyman's idea seems pretty good, I would make you a cardboard template and then cut the plywood.

Form the channels around the glass, you had to remove the glass anyway. I always used the glass to form it, working the corners slowly, then install the channels in the doors and install the windows, closing them to hold the channels in until the sealant sets up.
