would one fit it a 55 chevy.

Is there a site that I can go to find crossover parts?

the trans am rear end is coils spring you would have to cut the mounts off and weld spring perches. if you are making any sort of hp, or using slicks you will probably break the stock axles. as far as width i am not sure if it to wide or not. you might also look into an s109 rear end they are same as camaro/trans am. also the zr2/4 wheel drive s10s had disc brakes and are slightly wider.

As others have stated the WS6 trans am rear end is roughly 2 inches wider on each side so they will stick out. what I did in my 56 bel air was use the WS6 trans am rear end and because they are longer I put Z06 corvette wheels (18x10.5 +58 offset) and they filled in the space and all i had to do was shave the inner lip on the quarter panel. By doing this I now have 10.5 inch wheels in the back with the leaf spring in stock place and it looks great!

Is there any reason in particular that you would want to put this rear in your 55? It seems like a bit of a downgrade from the stock 55-57 unit to me. The late model 10 bolts are notoriously weak.
