Your favorite tri five

I have owned 4 trifives. Probably my favorite was my first one which was a 55 rag top. I loved that car. It had a 265 with a vette cam and solid lifters, a three 2 set up and a three speed with o.d. on the floor with a Hurst shifter. This not so good picture was taken in 1962.

'55 is my favorite year.
I was born that year and my Dad bought a new '55 210 2dr sedan with a 265. My parents also bought their first house that year.

In the nomad, I like the '57 the best.

Gotta love the 2 tone paint scheme on the '56 Bel Air too.

I like them all but when I set out to look for a TriFive, it had to be a '55.

Well yeah- I love the '57 150 as well. It's the only trifive I've owned and it's become part of the family in a way. -But I can't say it's my favorite trifive. I love the aggressive open grill of the '55 and I think the '56 has a great tail section. Plus it was a friends '56 business coupe that I learned to turn a wrench on.
I give up- I love 'em all!

Heck, I'm fickle!!! My 'favorite' anything car is the one I'm building at the present time, so with that in mind I'd have to say my favorite Tri-Five is a '57 2 door C-Dan!!!!!:sign0020:

The 1956 has always been my favorite of the three years. I like the grill and the rear fenders and tailights better than the '55. JMO! And as far as the '57, it is such an 1950's icon and appears in so many '50s ads, it seems as though that was the only 50's car made. I give my buddy who has a red '57 HT a lot of grief (in jest) about how sick I am of looking at red 1957 Chevys in every nostalgic ad printed! He just grins back at me!

Cool answers so far, I really enjoy why you folks love these cars. When you look at it, we mostly all have fond memories of that first Tri Five Chevy that we remember our Mom and Pop owned, or our own first Tri Five, that has made an impression on us. But many of us love em all including myself. That is just one reason that many of us own more than one... keep the posts coming. :tu:tu:tu :blowtiedb::flag4:

I can't decide, guess thats why i have a 55 and a 56. I have been looking to get a 57, boy i would never be able to pick just one if that happens. If i had to stay with just one i guess a 56 210 2 dr sedan would be my final pick.

Grew up with a 56 2 Dr 210 in the household and I have big sentimental feelings toward 56's. But I do live them all. I am just a total gearhead and love cars.

Got to say 57 4 dr ht as thats what i am working on , but i love the 55 s and 56 s,

in an ideal world i would have a garage with three doors in there would be a 55 HT a 56 HT and a 57 HT

I fell in love with a 57 Nomad when I was 14. My feelings haven't changed in 49 years which is why I still have mine all these years later.

Well for me I started with a 57 2dr. hardtop in 1974 and I was driving it one day and it got a fuel leak at the carburator and burn down to the ground so I got a 56 2dr. sedan in 1976 painted flames on the hood and fenders and sold it for a 55 2dr. Belair in 1977 installed a 454 with 2 fours and a 4 speed and change over to a 383 5 speed 12 bolt rearend and still have it, I have strip and repainted it 3 times and needs a new paint job now that will be my next project, well my son wanted a 55 2dr. Delray so I got it in 1989 and it the red one I have on my post 350 vortec with 700r4 4 wheel disc brakes, but out of them all I like all of them but really would like to get a nomad one day. :p3:, Later Bill

I always felt the 55 was a little under engineered, (being kinda a rush job) and the 57 was a little over engineeered. I thought they got the 56 just about right
