My dad has a 56 convertible that needs interior. Any suggestions on certain vendors or brands? Thanks for any input.

In my opinion based on what i have seen first hand through many others is you have two choices for the quality and correct original looking interiors. If original if what he is after the two best sources are Ciadella (ask for Gina ) or Cars Inc ( ask for Bill ).

Agree that these are the best original interior suppliers. I have used Ciadella. It seems that others' loyalties are split 50/50 between the two. I don't know who supplies interiors to Ecklars and Danchuk, but they often have sales on complete interior kits. Might be worth investigating.....

NO QUESTION , Ciadella's . I purchased a kit from Danchuk (CARS) and was very disappointed . After 3 months I got the refund , but lost shipping , and ordered the kit from Gina . No comparison between the quality of material and service . I needed to order some minor other parts and vinyl at a later time and Gina not only shipped it free and discounted their price but also gave me extra carpet as well . They are the best:congrats:

Ciadella, you won't get better quality nor customer service. The turn around time too for a complete interior is amazing, they have them to you so quickly. I don't think there is any real question here, you can't go past a Ciadella interior IMO

Thanks again everyone for the Ciadella recommendation. Dad called and got a quote on an entire interior and convert. top. Looks like he'll go that direction.

Im not sure if there is a difference in the conv interiors for tri-fives... but CARSInc interior is great. They use the best materials, the cloth patterns ive ordered on my 60's Impalas are as close to original as you can get, and they dont skimp on stuff that they think you wont notice. Im pickier than most, i look at the details. I can spot a CARSInc kit when i see it.... i can also spot a horrible PUI kit when i see it too. Ciadellas... im not sure, havent seen one since they started back up and would like to see one in person.

And before anyone says it... yes i know Ciadella is a site sponsor, but that doesnt mean im going to settle for something less than the best just because someone sponsors a forum.

Depends on what you want and if you have any good shops locally. I had a local guy do these door panels, headliner, arm rests, and sunvisors on my 55 210 several years ago. The seats were already done when I bought the car.

Talked with them breifly last year and told them I planned to use a factory layout with 1 exception.... I want to use a 68 caprice 2 door front seat. bucket back with fold down armrest and bench bottom with a modified frame to clear the Vertigate shifter. Only answer seemed to be to send them the seat AND maybe I should stripit and shipit to get the best looking product. Unless I can find someone comparable to ciadella on the middle east coast. Ciadella does beautiful work and I have time to decide. Just blabbering on again:gba:

When it comes time to order the interior, I will be ordering it from Ciadella. I hope this summer by the latest.
