long story short my wife did me a favor and ran my 55 to local trans shop for a new seal and trans mount. New mount raised motor enough to contact back of valve cover to throttle lever. Wife gave car gas, motor torqued and applied a bit more gas for her  I cant adjust it any more. locar makes a cable conversion. anyone running a cable setup to a holley????? any insight would be great. P.S. Wife is ok , she was smart enough to turn the key off. Nothing like matting a nasty big block when your not ready:eek:

Sounds like it is definitly time for a cable operated throttle.

Your lucky she is quick! My buddy has a 69 Z28 with manual linkage with 613HP he nailed it the motor torqued over and stuck the throttle wide open against the valve cover, turned the key off and locked the steering so he turned the key back on and wide open again finally got the key turned off without locking the steering wheel but what a ride. glad I had to work that day LOL. for sure a cable for safety
