I removed my steering box and will replace it with a rebuilt Borgeson. I made notes of the location of the pittman arm, but still I'm not sure how to know I will get it back in the correct position. Do you center the travel of the steering and then install the pittman? Any tip would be helpful.

THis maybe too easy, but I'm ready to pull my 605 from my '56 Bel Air for a new CPP 5000. The pitman Arm and power steering lines removed. Just the bolts (w/o nuts) and rag joint left. I've removed the lower rag joint bolt. I thought I could remove the 605 box by lifting and pulling down. It is either too heavy, or the rag joint must come all the way out first. It does not seem possible, Not a lot of space.

Is there a trick here, or I'm not not seeing it right?

I installed a 670 box some years ago. I have those headers our vendors say are made for tri 5 chevies. They are stainless steel. We installed everything and the idle arm when you turn extreme left hits the header. I have tried to use a 6 cly idle arm and it does not clear. I have our factory set up with dropped link under the pan. I thought about shaving some off the edge of the idle arm is this a good idea?
