Does anyone know how to adust caliper disc emergency brake.

The initial adjustment is to take the caliper off the vehicle, remove the pads, and adjust the piston out to where the pads just touch the rotor. You may need to make a spanner wrench to do this, there are two dowel holes in the piston for a spanner. Once you can make contact with the pad on rotor, exercising the e-brake will adjust it the rest of the way. And using the e-brake will self adjust it from now on. You need to use the e-brake anytime you park the car to keep this in adjustment. Remember too that this adjustment applies to the regular brakes too.
This applies to the Caddy/Transam calipers used on a lot of conversions as well. These brakes are not going to function well for very long if you don't hook up and use the e-brake! |
