All 56-59 are 2nd series trucks.

Is this the red long bed that has been on Craigs list for a while? I thought about looking at it myself but found another military short box that is calling my name. There was a guy in Fla. that had a short box '57 sitting on 3/4 ton 4x4 Burb chassis for sale a while back also.

Don, What's the matter with a pick-up purchase? Do you not like pick-ups?
I'm messin with ya, I think I know what you meant. LOL
Mike, Is that a pic of the truck? If that's it, IMO I think I'd look around man that thing looks rough.

Mike
In 55 they built first and second series.
I don't know about parts down there but up here they are cheap and plentiful. It seems that you have family in Wisc ,,as I remember. If you are ever near Northern Illinois (maybe for the holidays) I would be willing to give you a good rear, complete out of a 56.
$3000 doesn't sound too bad if it runs and drives but if it needs a lot and the body is bad,,it sounds a little steep. Of course,I am basing that comment on what things are going for up here.
Good luck and give me a shout if you are in my neck of the woods. I will gladly make a donation to the project.I have 3 complete trucks(55 -56 -57) and parts for a few more.Good luck-Keith
