As always , nice job and fun to watch . I am thinking that most people would have to find a new car , thats one rusty wagon.

Robert you attention to detail is awesome, and the way you take your time to illustrate your work just adds to your high skill level reading your post for me is like reading a good children's book for a big kid you just do not want to stop reading

The seam you removed the lead from, will you put lead back into them (seams) or will you use some other approach?

Robert, nice work and photos.

Another big plus for me is.........In the rear quarter panel inside photo it shows the metal bracket (one with a hole and the other a U shape gissmo) where the cable for the lift gate goes thru, most folks (like me) never get to see exactly what that looks like except with a flashlight laying on your back or peeking thru small holes. THANKS

Thanks for the comments guys!

Marty, before removal of the blue paint this car arrived with, there were small imperfections in the paint above all of the leaded seams where I could tell where each one was. Perhaps it was a fluke, perhaps a reaction with etching primer to the lead, who knows. I will likely use marglas or equivalent to build up the area and evercoat 416 to finish.

Don, we do have new retractor cables for the gate, so we plan on doing an "ant farm" view of the installation process while we have the "opening"

Robert that is a very good update as usual. I noticed on "two guys garage" the other day that the 66 chevyII that they was working on they cut out the dropped down seams and welded in flat sheet patches to replace the leaded seam areas. What do you think of that idea, coming from a good metal workers standpoint ?

What are your opinions on the use of lead(and the lead-free lead) versus marglas? Pros and cons? Is lead just too nasty to work with anymore? Do you have any opinions on all-metal(type of filler)? The time is coming soon to decide on how to fill in our new rockers(at the b-post) where it was leaded originally.

Nice work Robert. You're going to replace every square inch of sheetmetal on that car yet, aren't you?

If it was me, I'd put 55 Nomad quarters on it. I think that would be cool. Can't wait to see how you tackle the weld in the middle of the quarter. I know you can do it, but it would scare the crap outta me.
