Hi, my names sean and I'm 17 years old. I just started to restore my first car. it's a 57 belair. In the repair manual, it says to use a certin kind of break fluid. Seeing how that kind isn't made anymore, what should I use as a replacment.
Thanks Sean |

Welcome Sean!!
You picked a great car for your first project![]() As far as the brake fluid goes, you should be fine with Dot3 or Dot4, if it hasn't already I would bleed the old fluid out first and start fresh.

The "DOT 3" brake fluid, which is the most common kind that you can buy at any auto supply, is the same fluild that's referred to in the shop manual.
It's kind of odd that I've never seen this question on these boards previously, because it's an appropriate one. |
