sorry no pics yet didnt get off work till after dark but by the sounds of it you guys kinda get the drift of what im trying to say, and at 1000 bucks a panel the nomad quarters are way out of my budget, i like the idea of the above posted pic, but beeing as i need quarters anyways I'll prolly go the route of the 55 panels, ive already got a good pair that i cut out of a post last year, then i can sand bag out a wheel lip and use my shrinker stretcher to shape it to the radius of the new wheel opening once the new quarters are cut. I may have a few hundred hours in it but should get about the same results as putting a pair of nomad quarters on it, but acheive a higher wheel opening

Also the rocker panels have a different shape between 55 and 56.Nothing some cutting grinding and welding won't fix but something to consider.

I always liked the '56 rear openings on '56's, but that sure looks good on that one. DuckusCrapus

YES! thats accually exacly what im looking for when im done with the car, somthing that looks very similar to that, probably in a semi gloss orange with a GMC671 and 4 port hanging out on a all iron bigblock, no hood and a pin on decklid, somthing between the two lane blacktop 55 and the winged express fuel altered, hilibrand spokes in the front and 5 slots in the back ![]() i really need to get to work on it |

I'm trying to decide the same thing! I have the rear quarter's stripped to metal, and have re-placement wheel openings for my 56 HT. After seeing the pic of the 56 with the 55/TLB wheel wells, it's got me thinking? HMMMM?
Thanks for the different choice's guys. al ![]() |

I have a '55 that i havent cut ...yet,but i really like the '56 wheelwell not cut and you can run a big tire without cutting them
imo the '55 needs to be opened up but not the '56 |

I was able to fit quite a bit of rubber under my 56 Gasser without cutting the wheel openings.
