Thank you all and especially wraplock! I forced myself kicking and screaming to try the dremel. Well it cut a perfectly clean, straight slot 1/2" longer with no problems or drama in about 10 minutes of easy careful work. Then a repolish of the edge and it is perfect.---------------The main thing is that this solves my wheel problems totally! The valve stem even has an extra 1/8" fore and aft movement in the slot. The wheel cover does not even touch the valve stem at all! No more blowouts! Thanks guys! This was a practice cap, will post pictures with a real one tomorrow.
