Here is an update. I should have them completely done by Saturday night. Both clocks have two coats of resin and are drying right now. I usually give them at least four days before putting a coat of paste wax on. They can be handled after one day, but they are still somewhat tacky.

The white looking part on the Chevelle clock is actually the reflection of the ceiling. Not a malfunction of the finish.

That is indeed a very nice looking '55.

Here are pictures of the two all done. I waxed them this morning and then installed the mechanism.

Thanks.

I'm not entirely satisfied with the Chevelle clock. Some specs settled into the resin after I put the cover over it. Maybe it's not so bad and I'm just being picky.

Just a thought .....
how bout a fine bead around the edge of the photo in the same timber to
dress/hide the edge of the photo ?
I know
I know
very easy to be picky ...might be worth considering though !
I'll keep quiet now and just wait for delivery.....

I hadn't really considered using wood to cover up the edge of the photo. I could do some playing and see how it would come out that way. It would have to be a very small in height piece.
