Default Bag of hammers

My son-in-law is a bag of hammers, I love him to death, but dang, boy. The reason is, because he is so dad gum smart he has no common sense. One heck of an lawyer, but dumber than a bag of hammers.
I had my daughter help me on my cars then on hers as she grew up. We rebuilt engines, brakes, the whole monte.
The first question he asked me was, where to put in the oil of his '95 Firebird. Where it says oil, I told him.
The second question, why does an engine have two sticks in it? One is for the tranny I replied.
So how do I put the oil in there? With a spout.
In both stick holes? In just the one for the tranny.
Then how do I pour the engine oil in stick hole if I can't use the spout for the engine?
I actually thought he was kidding me, until my daughter said to me. See why I had him ask you? He won't believe me.

lol wow. I suppose people like that are the reason my girlfriend's father (a mechanic) makes more than I do as an engineer.

But I fail to see why my entire generation has to be accused of having a lack of knowledge. There are plenty of very talented car guys in my generation. Just as they are plenty of clueless people in the older ones.

Everyone has their strong and weak points. Fortunately for many of us on this site, our stronger points are dealing with cars. That's why we tinker with them. We also learn more from them as we go. For others. They've probably had no one to ever show them squat about cars and/or never cared to learn. So, their strong points are elsewhere. Some of us are wellrounded and have strong points in many areas. We just need to be careful whose toes we step on, because none of us know it all !!

Oh no, his dad is a real car guy. He and I talk about cars and stuff when we meet. It just has no appeal to my son-in-law. When it comes to games such as the new one I bought him for Christmas, Assasins Creed, he can tear it up! He gives me plenty of grief when I make my Halo 3 man shoot up in the sitnkin' air, because my thumbs don't do right.:p My other son-in-law is teaching me the fine art of bow hunting, and we are planning on building him a shop so he can get his hands on an old jeep he has spied. Two different guys, but I wouldn't trade 'em for anything, unless you may have an extra trifive layin' around? lol. He sires 'em, and his dad and I will train 'em. Ha!
