Default First drive in the 55

I got some wheels and tires all aired up, slapped'em on the car to see how the alignment was after eyeballin it. Looked good enough to drive a couple yards down the street so i did... as I crept outa the garage I had decent pressure on the brakes, (after a few pumps, need to rebleed some more) so I went ahead and drove it on down the street! A big cloud of dust flew off the roof and I thought it was smoke from the motor at first looking through the rearview... now I notice sooo many little things to do now that it is nearing driveabilty. I attached some pics of the adventure yesterday so you guys could enjoy too. Im getting so close to being able to cruise this car! Just some cheapo rattle can black primer and get the car legal and I will be out on the road burnin some gas!

That's almost as exciting as having your first kid
I like the unfinished look...it's shows as a work in progress. Drive it and have fun.

It's really nice to see young men picking up the love of tri-5s I was afraid once the nostalgia guys died off the love affair would be over but there is hope with the younger generation picking up the torch. I drove my 57 for 14 years with a primer front end before I was able to restore it and once it was finished or near finished driving it was a whole new experience and even now after ten years every time is like the first time, I love my Chevy!!!!! Glad you got to enjoy that experience. Bet the adrenilen was pumping. I can remember the first time i ran mine down the road from the first rebuild. It was primered red and i drove it about 3 miles with open headers on the way to the muffler shop. I`m ready for that ride and feeling again myself. Keep the updates coming.
