Hi all Norm here again. 1st. thanks for all you help on my fuel gage.
I could use advice on one more item. I have a 55 belair,It has the oem steel wheels. I just striped and painted them. I also have the belair full wheel covers in good shape. I stopped using them because they wanted to turn and cut my valve stem. How can I stop this? My wheels do have the bumps on them I guess to stop this Thanks Norm |

Most use a steel valve stem or stem cover. Also I have noticed that the ones that have the cracks in the ring that hold the cap on, some are broken completely in that spot. Double check yours. You should be able to have someone stainless weld the crack shut, which can also make sure it's out far enough to grab right. I have had this happen to mine before. I ended up buying up alot of full caps around here and choosing the best with no cracks or brakes. Now I can't say how they do (tags are expired), except for the fact they do fit tighter, alot tighter.

Hi people,
My first attempt to get some answers here. I just brought my 56 Belair here to so cal. I need to do some work on it. the simple things would be the gas gauge - it dosen't work and the shift indicator doesn't move. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve |

Thanks I'll check for cracks and make sure the tabs are out far enough to catch on the wheel .
