Default Ebay Mirror Not the Right One for My 57

I bought (won) a rear view mirror on ebay but it's not the right one. I don't have the bracket that it screws into but I can tell by the photos on the vendor sites that the mirror is supposed to have a threaded part sticking out of the back of it. A little research showed me that the day/night mirror has a different deal on the back of it and it needs an adapter so it can screw into the bracket. The mirror I won needs the adapter but it's not a day/night mirror. The adapter is available at Mutton Hollow for about 20 bucks, but could get a new mirror for that so I'm wondering -- does anyone have the adapter or know someone who's parting out a car and might have one for a few bucks?

It was my fault. The description said it was from a 57 2dr ht and I just assumed it would fit my 57 4dr ht -- and it should fit but I didn't ask any questions and didn't look closely enough at the photos (although I don't think I would've seen the problem). the seller was nice enough about it and was genuinely surprised when I told him it wasn't what I ws looking for, but he didn't offer to take it back and I didn't ask him to -- like I said, it was my fault, not his. That's what I get for being too cheap to buy a new one, now I can pay for a new one and have this one for a souvenir!

I am having a hard time thinking what this looks like, would you have a picture of the piece? i would check my arsenal of stuff if i knew what to look for.

Would this be a 57 only piece?

I guess i do not understand why a 2drhtp will not work for a 4drhtp?

I just got that piece with a new mirror I just bought and don't need it. My mirror was discolored and that's all I needed. Let me double check what I took out of my delivery to make sure what I have stock is in good shape.
