I have had my frame smoothed and painted gloss black. It would be a shame to stick the floor jack under it and scratch it up. What are you guys using to protect the frame when you jack it up?? I'll need to take it in for muffler/tailpipe work, will their lift scuff up the paint? (I know, if I only would have powder coated). Any way, what do you guys use to protect your frame, and what should I do when I take it in for work on a lift? Thanks!!! Will.

I cut 4"X4" squares out of old tire treads. They are slightly dished and fit the jack pad. Many muffler shops lift the car by the tires with drive on lifts.

I use little pieces of carpet on my wife's car. It seems to grip the frame pretty well and doesn't leave any marks.

I use an old two sided buffing pad. Works like a charm.
