Hello All,
I found my way here to this board from the Danchuk site. I have owned my 57 sedan for a while, but it has been in storage. Way back in 1978, I was 15 years old and I bought my first car for $200. It was a blue and white 55 210 sedan. The body was in nice shape, but the interior and wiring was trashed. I didn't know very much about cars back then, so I never got the 55 running. It did spark an interest in these cars. Two years later in 1980, I got the bug again and traded my 73 Vega for a 1957 210 sedan. The car was incomplete and in bad shape, but it seemed to call to me. It had no interior, bumpers, trim, or glass. The compression was so low on the 265 that I could turn the engine over with the fan. Someone had sandblasted the body and left it outside unprotected. It was covered with coating of surface rust. Needless to say, my Mom was not too happy about me trading my school transportation for this hulk. Over the next couple of years I hit the junkyards and want ads gathering parts. (Remember when Tri-5's were still in junkyards?) I entered the US Air Force and after I was stationed at my base in Little Rock Arkansas, I started to put the car together. I finally got it together enough to drive it, and it made several trips across country. Still, due to my limited resources, it never was completed to my satisfaction. After leaving the Air Force, the car developed numerous annoyance problems. I bought a VW Bug and parked the Chevy. With it parked outside, someone stole my Chevy Rally Wheels and the window got smashed. My bother-in-law let me store it in a shed at his farm near Houston, where I started to disassemble it again. I had to move away to take a new job in the Dallas area, and the car has been there untouched for the last 19 years. Now it's time! Armed with better resources and the support of my wife, I plan to rebuild the car the way I always deamed it could be. Wish me luck. Mark

Welcome to Tri Five Mark. Your story sounds a lot like many others story. Do you make it to the local swap meets? Another one coming up at Lagrave field in 2 weeks.
